Control Vacuum Level and Test Time with the Model S Controller
The Model S vacuum controller regulates two variables that directly affect leak-test repeatability: the vacuum level and the duration of the test cycle.
Electronic adjustment, timed operation and parameter locking help reduce operator dependence and make dry, immersion and transport-simulation tests easier to standardize.
What Is the Model S Controller?
The DVACI Model S is a controller and vacuum-generation system for packaging leak tests. It combines electronic vacuum regulation, cycle timing and straightforward start/stop operation in one platform.
It can be paired with CDV vacuum chambers of different sizes and may also be evaluated as an upgrade for an existing compatible chamber.
Generating vacuum is not enough.
A test can produce different results from one cycle to the next when vacuum settings, exposure time or operator actions vary. That makes the process harder to compare, validate and standardize.
The Model S gives operators direct control of the variables that define the cycle while retaining a simple operating sequence.
- Consistent vacuum target
- Defined test duration
- Reduced operator variation
- Comparable test cycles

Control the cycle without making operation complicated.
The interface is designed for practical use in quality-control, validation and production environments.
Adjust vacuum
Select the target vacuum condition required for the package and procedure.
Define duration
Program the exposure time so consecutive tests follow the same cycle.
Start or stop
Use direct controls and a digital display for clear routine operation.
Lock parameters
Restrict unauthorized adjustment of the approved operating settings.
From setup to a repeatable package evaluation
Pair the controller with the chamber your application requires.
The Model S is compatible with DVACI CDV vacuum chambers, allowing the chamber size to change while operators retain a familiar control sequence.
This can simplify training and help standardize internal procedures across different package sizes or test stations.

Reduce unintended changes between operators and shifts.
Once the appropriate vacuum level and cycle time have been established, parameter locking can help prevent unapproved modifications.
The feature supports consistency, but the user remains responsible for the test procedure, qualification, validation and acceptance criteria.
Integrated vacuum generation with two supply options.
The standard configuration can generate vacuum through a Venturi system using compressed air. When compressed air is unavailable or an application calls for another arrangement, an optional vacuum-pump configuration can be evaluated.
- Venturi vacuum generation
- Optional vacuum pump
- Electronic level adjustment
- Application-specific configuration

Use controlled vacuum for different package-test objectives.
Dry leak testing
Apply a controlled vacuum to observe package deformation, pressure behavior or other procedure-defined indications without liquid immersion.
Immersion testing
Control vacuum and exposure time during bubble-emission or dye-based procedures performed in a liquid medium.
Transport simulation
Reproduce pressure differentials associated with distribution or high-altitude conditions using the relevant procedure.
Method selection and test settings must be developed for the actual package. Official packaging standards are available from ASTM International.
Evaluate an upgrade before replacing an existing chamber.
When a company already owns a vacuum chamber but needs better control of vacuum and time, DVACI can review whether Model S integration is technically suitable.

Repeatability does not come from vacuum alone. It comes from controlling the vacuum level, test time, operating sequence and package-specific procedure together.
Model S Controller FAQ
What does the Model S Controller regulate?
It electronically regulates the vacuum level and controls test duration, two important variables in repeatable packaging leak-test cycles.
Does the Model S generate vacuum?
Yes. It can generate vacuum through a Venturi system using compressed air. An optional vacuum-pump configuration can also be evaluated.
Can it work with different CDV chamber sizes?
Yes. The Model S can be paired with DVACI CDV vacuum chambers so the chamber can be selected around the package and application.
Can it modernize a chamber from another manufacturer?
Potentially. DVACI must review the chamber, sealing, connections, vacuum source and safety requirements before confirming compatibility.
Which tests can be performed?
Depending on the chamber and approved procedure, the controller can support dry tests, liquid-immersion tests and pressure-differential transport simulations.
